Magnus Technologies Unveils Revamped Magnus Driver App and NFR Management at Trimble Insight

Innovation advances fleet management by automating driver workflows and tracking non-freight-related (NFR) events

(Las Vegas, Nevada, September 15, 2024) β€” Magnus Technologies, a leading SaaS-based enterprise trucking and logistics management software provider, announced two innovations at the Trimble Insight conference that advance load planning, execution, and exception management in the truckload industry.

Magnus Driver App: The Intelligent Assistant

Magnus Technologies unveiled an updated version of its MDA (Magnus Driver App). The redesign delivers customizable, truckload-specific mobile workflows that simplify drivers’ tasks and provide real-time access to critical information.

MDA now offers:

  • Intelligent circle-of-service mobile driver workflows
  • Advanced, integrated image and document capture, indexing, storage, and processing capabilities
  • Industry-leading exception management tools for drivers to capture delays, refused loads, detentions, cargo overage, shorts and damages, and other events at the point of discovery
  • Driver rating system for dispatch experiences
  • Driver-prompted ETAs/PTAs that promote effective communication between the driver and back-office operations

MDA is integrated with the Magnus Platform and leading ELD and vehicle telematics systems to deliver a unified mobility solution for driver and fleet management.

Load Planning Excellence with NFR Management

Alongside its new MDA, the Magnus Platform added industry-first features to track and manage non-freight-related (NFR) events. With the new capability, users can easily add planned stops on driver routes for fueling, trailer pickups, equipment repositioning, driver home time, maintenance, and more.

This development addresses a critical gap in traditional transportation management systems (TMS), which treat load planning as simple A-to-B movements.

“Adding NFR events to driver routes with our cohesive and robust load-planning process gives truckload fleets a complete, accurate, real-time picture of operations,” said Jay Delaney, director of product development at Magnus Technologies. β€œThe new system tracks all time and miles on a route to identify cost leakage and improve billing and driver pay accuracy.”

Key benefits of the NFR Management feature include:

  • Accurate ETAs. Realistic load planning incorporates driver route details.
  • Built-in business intelligence. Users can analyze costs associated with NFR events.
  • Seamless integration with the Magnus Driver App (MDA). Drivers see NFR events in their workflows and update their statuses.
  • Intelligent trailer selection. An interactive map helps planners find trailers and plan stops that minimize delays and deadhead miles.

“With the latest updates, the Magnus Platform offers truckload fleets a holistic approach to load planning and exception management,” added Delaney. “NFR Management tools with the enhanced Magnus Driver App is a powerful combination that enables fleets to make optimal planning decisions and proactively manage exceptions.”
